New Wall Map of Arizona

PHOENIX - Arizona is a state of wide-open spaces, geographic diversity, large cities, small towns, highways, roads, rivers and many recent changes. It takes a large map to show it all! The cartographers at Phoenix Mapping Service, a division of Wide World of Maps, Inc, have produced a map that shows off Arizona in a big way. It's an all new and up-to-date 48" by 56" Arizona Highways and Roads Wall Map. It is the newest map of the state, and it is packed full of useful information.

James Willinger, president of Wide World of Maps says, "We started more than a year ago by asking our customers what they needed. They responded by saying: 'All the wall maps out there are old and out of date, so a new one had better show the latest changes.'" Willinger adds: "Our customers are pretty demanding, they didn't want just any state map. They wanted us to do one that shows the Interstate, U.S., State and Indian highway systems along with other major roads. They also wanted to make sure the map shows all the cities and towns with an indication of the latest populations. And of course, they needed counties, rivers, streams, lakes, and mountain ranges. Others told us, 'While you're at it, we'd also like it to show the latest changes to Indian Lands, National Forests, National Parks, Monuments, Military Reservations, Wilderness Areas and Wildlife Refuges. Oh, and be sure to show the base lines, meridians, and township lines along with longitude and latitude lines. If we also show a little of the bordering states and little bit of Sonora, Mexico, the map would be ideal.'" A lot of work goes into making a map like this.

After a year of design, research and preparation, the finished wall maps are now available. The result is a state wall map that is informative, useful, up-to-date and attractive for display in any home or office. "We knew that our customers also display these wall maps in reception areas, board rooms, meeting rooms and offices, so the map had to look good enough to frame. (Yes, Wide World of Maps also does mounting, laminating and custom framing)," Willinger added.

The Arizona Department of Transportation used to produce a large wall map, but stopped making it years ago. The new Arizona Highways and Roads Wall Map contains many of the same features, but is updated, digitally prepared and improved in many ways. Government agencies and businesses that relied on the now out-of-print ADOT map will want to take a look at this one.

The Arizona Highways and Roads Wall Map is available only through Wide World of Maps stores in located at 2626 West Indian School Road in Phoenix and 1444 West Southern Avenue in Mesa or through their website www.maps4u.com. It retails for $39.95, or a sturdy, laminated version is available for $64.25.

Wide World of Maps is the leading map supplier in Arizona. Since 1974, the company has offered a wide selection of maps and related items that cover all parts of the world. The company's publishing division specializes in making maps of Arizona and its communities.
