The Arizona Road & Recreation Atlas is divided into four sections: Regional, Recreation, Landscape, and Metro. The highly detailed Landscape maps, which are the heart of the atlas, are exquisitely and delicately colored to realistically depict the varied terrain. The maps are scaled at 6.31 miles to an inch (1:400,000) and show GPS grids so the map references coordinate with standard GPS units. All Arizona roads that are drivable are clearly classified by surface and purpose, and readers will find it interesting to see how they snake around, up, and down the mountainous areas. Hundreds of campgrounds, recreation sites, and points-of-interest are noted, as well as rest areas, ski areas, golf courses, and airports.
Maps in the Recreation section are beautifully colored and clearly marked with all sorts of recreational locations, museums, historical sites, and other points of interest. An abundance of information and climate charts accompany these maps. The new edition introduces a new updated Grand Canyon section.
